Harmer architecture collaborated with the Property and Services Division of Monash University on the refurbishment of Building U on the Peninsula campus in Frankston.

Context

Building U is a focal point on the Peninsula Campus for student services, food & hospitality and is located beside the new Gillies Hall student accommodation building, and the Harmer designed MPARC sports and teaching facility completed in 2012.

Brief

Building U was upgraded internally to improve facilities for Monash Health Services, Monash Student Union, MONSU and Monash Residential Services. A previous dining bistro area was upgraded to cater for a wide range of events, conferences and seminars. Harmers carried out extensive stakeholder consultation to inform the design, construction of which was completed early in 2023.
