-
The St Andrews Anglican Parish Church in Corio accommodates a worship space for 250 people, a church hall, foyer/fellowship area, meeting rooms, kitchen, office and vestry.
The boat is a single form of connected spaces. It is an ecclesiastic emblem of the church and represents the location of the parish in a port city i.e. Corio.
The ‘bow’ of the church is open so that church activities are visible.
The boat orientates itself toward the community that it serves and evokes the idea of a spiritual journey.
