  • Harmer Architecture in association with Anna Muller of Helvetica Health Planning, prepared in 2014 a Masterplan for the redevelopment and expansion of the St. John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital (SJGFRH). The 69 bed specialist rehabilitation hospital offers neurological, orthopaedic, cardiac and rehabilitation programs to more than 1,500 inpatients and outpatients each year. SJGFRH is a division of St. John of God Health Care, Australia’s third largest health care provider.

Viable development options were identified for the existing hospital site at 255-265 Cranbourne Road Frankston Victoria that addresses future clinical service needs. The proposed redevelopment is of a significant scale with major renovations and extensions anticipated. The endorsed Health Services Plan, based on service demand profiling, encompasses accommodation for additional inpatient beds supported by expanded Allied Health rehabilitation treatment provision.

The Harmer – Helvetica team successfully outlined block planning options and developed detailed design and costing of the preferred option together with a staged implementation strategy.
