ACU Gymnasium

This project was a fit out of a previous office space to create the main gymnasium on the ACU St Patricks campus in the Mary Glowrey Building.

The new space provides a vibrant area for use of gym equipment such as treadmills and weights machines, a free weights area in front of the mirrored wall delineated by thick rubber tiles and a stretch area denoted by the quieter green coloured linoleum wall lining and speckled green rubber flooring.

Being located next to the library, a key consideration was ensuring effective acoustic attenuation and reverberation, and an acoustic consultant was engaged for this purpose. We were also able to retain a number of existing items such as built in reception joinery, glazed entry doors and windows and existing rubber flooring, to save on costs and construction time.
